Milwaukee is known for our great craft breweries, but don’t miss our growing craft cocktail scene.
When you put fresh, local ingredients (including liquors distilled right here in Milwaukee) in the hands of a creative bartender, the results can’t be beat.
Open since 1938, Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge is a local gem and a unique vintage cocktail experience. A semifinalist for the James Beard Awards’ “Best Bar Program” (2013), Bryant’s repertoire includes over 450 specialty and classic cocktails, but you won’t see a menu here. Instead, let one of their knowledgeable bartenders guide you to the perfect cocktail for your tastes.
Distil is Milwaukee’s House of Bourbon, providing a cocktail experience unlike any other in town. Enjoy craft and classic cocktails, many made with the featured spirits, in an atmosphere that takes you away from the modern world into a bygone era.
At Braise, Milwaukee’s only community supported restaurant, it’s no surprise that the cocktails are as unique and intriguing as the food. Just as the menu changes daily to reflect the best in seasonal foods, the cocktails here are hand-crafted for local excellence.
Stop at the East Side’s original cocktail lounge, Vitucci’s, to enjoy an evening out the same way generations of Milwaukeeans have been doing for over 80 years. This iconic lounge is still family-owned – stop in for a cocktail and absorb the history.
You’ll find liquors from Great Lakes Distillery, the first small-batch distillery in Wisconsin since Prohibition, flowing at many of the locations listed above, but don’t miss the opportunity to see the source! Visit the distillery for a tour and sample their award-winning products, including Rehorst Vodka and Gin, Roaring Dan’s Rum and Kinnickinnic Whiskey, and stop at the bar to enjoy one of their spirits in a tempting cocktail.
Located adjacent to Milwaukee Brewing Company’s brewery (another local favorite), Central Standard Distillery is another spot to explore small-batch craft spirits in the Walker’s Point neighborhood. Take a tour and stop by their tasting room to sample their handmade vodka, gin, white whiskey and (once it reaches maturity) bourbon.
