Can you feel the chill in the air? As swimsuits on the beach turn to sweaters next to the bonfire, this time of year signals the beginning of one of your favorite fall activities - apple picking! Grab a basket and pick a bushel with friends and family at one of these apple orchards.
Take the road north to Colgate and visit Peck & Bushel, Wisconsin's largest certified organic apple orchard. Choose between over a dozen apple varieties throughout the season then head to The Barn to partake in fresh pressed cider and apple cider donuts.
Looking for more than just red delicious and granny smiths? Throughout the fall The Elegant Farmer has a variety of activities to choose from including corn mazes and pumpkin patches. Make your way to the Farm Kitchen Bakery, Deli, and Market after your outing to pick up one of their delectable treats to take home with you. The variety of fall treats like Apple Pie Baked in a Paper Bag or their Pumpkin Apple Bread are sure to make your mouth water.
